Ben and Roy Thompson started out when they were in high school by trading firewood for a chain saw. The brothers then worked cutting fence posts. Their parents joined them, and they upgraded to logging services. When log prices dropped too low, they bought a small sawmill and began selling beams and rough lumber. As their market awareness increased, so did their knowledge of how the forest works.
The Thompsons have dedicated themselves to working with the forest to preserve wildlife and old growth timber, while selectively harvesting logs, using low impact methods, and finding the best ways to utilize every bit of wood they brought in.
The forest is too precious to waste.
